With the game tied 1-1 late in the first half, Mercy went on a 3-0 run to take a 4-1 advantage after Bub scored a goal at the 10:46 mark.  Holy Family responded with back-to-back goals from junior Samantha Cornely (Washington Twp., N.J./Camden Catholic) and James to cut into the Mavericks' lead.  Cornely scored a free position goal at the 7:35 mark and then James followed with a free position goal a few minutes late to make the score 4-3 with 6:04 to play in the half.

The Mavericks answered back with three straight goals to make the score 7-3 in their favor with less than two minutes to play in the first stanza.  Junior Katherine Podlinski (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic) ended Mercy's run with her first goal of the season with only :34 seconds left on the clock.  The Mavericks though responded again as Bub scored her third goal of the half with five seconds remaining in the half to give Mercy an 8-4 lead at the half.

In the second half Mercy quickly got things started with a goal from sophomore Kelsey Sullivan in the first minute of action to give the Mavericks a 9-4 advantage.  However, Holy Family responded and scored three straight goals to cut the lead to 9-7 after Mansi found the back of the net on a free position shot with 22:25 to play.

Mercy followed the Holy Family rally with its own run and scored six unanswered goals to put the game out of reach almost midway through the half.  The Mavericks led 15-7 with 17:20 left on the clock.  Holy Family ended its scoring drought after Mansi scored her third of four goals of the half to make the score 15-8.

After Mansi's goal, Mercy went on another run and closed out the game with a 5-1 run on its way to the victory.

Holy Family is back in action on Sunday, March 13 as the Tigers travel to Western Pennsylvania to take on Indiana University of Pa.  Game time is slated for 12 p.m.
