PHILADELPHIA - The Holy Family University Women's Lacrosse Team closed out its season with a 12-13 loss to Caldwell on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Prior to the to the contest, HFU honored its senior class of Tiana Harkins,
Renee Althoff (Lancaster, Pa./Solanco),
Jocelyn McLaughlin (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and
Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)).
Individual Highlights
- Harkins led all players with seven points, tying a career-best, on a career-high four goals and three assists
- She ends her career with 41 assists, now seventh in program history
- Lexi Ryan (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) had triple the amount of draw controls as any other player with a career-best nine, while adding four points and a team-high three caused turnovers
- Julie Gallardo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Township) had four points too, netting a hat trick, and she topped the Tigers with four ground balls
- Elle Fitzgerald (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) and Symia Brazleton (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) both caused multiple turnovers
- Gwen Varley (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) had three points on two goals and an assist, while Casey Schuette (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scored and assist another
- Althoff made nine saves in net

- Holy Family more than double the amount of draw controls, 19-8, while outshooting Caldwell 32-24, but the Cougars would outpace the Tigers 0-5 in free-position goals
How it Happened
- The entirety of the game was played within two goals
- HFU led by two thrice, at 2-0 less than four minutes and then twice in the third, as Harkins putting the Tigers ahead 10-8 with 5:07 left in the penultimate period
- Caldwell came back with two in a row though, knotting the score at 10 entering the final quarter, before the two teams alternated goals to begin the fourth
- Gallardo made it 12-11 with 8:04 to go, but the Cougars would net the final two scores with the game-winner coming at the 2:15 mark
- Holy Family had an opportunity to tie it in the final minute and a half, as Ryan won the ensuing draw control, but both Varley and Julia Leibig (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) were denied by Caldwell's goalkeeper
