Women’s Lacrosse Opens CACC Season with 17-7 Win Over Post

PHILADELPHIA - The HFU Women's Lacrosse team scored the five goals en route to a 17-7 victory over Post in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
Individual Highlights
  • Elle Fitzgerald (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) led all players with career-bests of six ground balls and four caused turnovers
  • Taina Harkins (Hopewell, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) posted a match-high with six points on two assists and four goals, the latter of which tied a career-best
  • Gwen Varley (East Earl, Pa./Garden Spot) led all players with a career-high five goals
  • Lexi Ryan (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) tied a match-best with four draw controls and was one of seven Tigers with multiple assist
  • Julia Leibig (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and Julie Gallardo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Township) both had four points on two scores and two assists
  • Also with multiple assists were freshmen Morgan Wise (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area Senior), Casey Schuette (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Jamie Gugger (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury), who scored her first career collegiate goal
  • Symia Brazleton (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) notably caused multiple turnovers, while Ava Reis (Morrell, Pa./New Foundations Charter School) registered three ground balls
  • Haydee Guzman (New Castle, Del./St. Georges Technical) stopped 11 of the 18 shots she faced to earn her second consecutive win
