NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Holy Family University Bowling Team won three matches at the Northeast Classic hosted by Sacred Heart University at Bowlerama over the weekend.
Two of those victories came in traditional play on Saturday, as the Tigers defeated Roberts Wesleyan (757-736) and Molloy (786-668).
Holy Family then swept St. Thomas Aquinas in bracket play on Sunday.
Maria Hindman (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) led HFU in traditional play with a total of 859 pins, good for 92nd in the field of 228. She averaged 171.8 pins, highlighted by a 210.
Addyson Given (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) was second on the Tigers with an average of 164.0, while
Emily Simpson (Levittown, N.J./Neshaminy) was second with 740 total pins.
Also competing were
Shayla Hess (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) (157.0 average),
Corin Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) (148.7) and
Catherine Cosden (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) (145.0).
Holy Family takes next weekend off before returning to action at Chestnut Hill's Griffin Baker Classic, hosted at Bowlero in Deptford, N.J., on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
