ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. – The HFU Bowling Team swept Chestnut Hill at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament hosted at Park Lanes over the weekend.
The Tigers defeated the Griffins 836-711 in traditional play on Saturday, before winning 802-672 in baker play on Sunday.
Despite those victories, HFU missed on qualifying for its second-ever CACC Tournament due to a tiebreaker. The Tigers and Wilmington finished with the same league record, but the Wildcats had the superior pinfall, 3,265-3,322, in head-to-head matchups.
Addyson Given (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) led Holy Family with 956 pins in traditional play, a 191.2 average, good for fifth in a field of 35 individuals. She shot over 200 twice, including a 222 in the victory over CHC.
Maria Hindman (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) was also in the top-half of the field with 835 pins, a 167 average, while
Catherine Cosden (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) shot a 217 in a 901-903 setback to Caldwell.
Also competing for HFU were
Shayla Hess (Churchville, Pa./Council Rock South) (156.8 average),
Emily Simpson (Levittown, N.J./Neshaminy) (148.2) and
Sarah Winder (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) (114.5).
