Women’s Lacrosse Shuts Out UDC 22-0 in Season-Opener

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team got its 2023 season started in emphatic fashion, as the Tigers shutout District of Columbia 22-0 on Monday afternoon at Tiger Field. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) led all players with five goals, six points, 10 attempts, nine shots on goal and five ground balls
    • She moved into 10th in program history with 99 goals and 108 draw controls
  • Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) had five ground balls too, and she also had a game-highs of five caused turnovers and five draw controls, to go along with a career-best three assists and a goal 
  • Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) joined Santucci with six points, tying a career-high, as she led all players with a career-best four assists to finish one shy of an HFU record
  • Rianna Shields (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) was second on Holy Family with four goals, seven shots on goal and a career-high four caused turnovers
  • Rachael Sepcic (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville (Georgian Court/Rowan)) and Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) also had hat tricks, while Paige Affet (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower Catholic) made it six Tigers with multiple goals
    • Wolstenholme finished second in the match with four draw controls
  • Seven Tigers recorded at least four points, as Madeline Curran (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) had a goal and a career-best three assists
  • Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) had a goal and assist as well, meaning nine Tigers had multiple points
  • Defensively, both Imani Hopkins (Baltimore, Md./Carver Center for Arts & Technology) (three) and Maura Coleman (Lower Moreland, Pa./Little Flower) (two) set or tied career-highs in caused turnovers
  • Payton Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) was one of five Tigers with multiple draw controls
  • Freshman Emma Hurley (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) stopped the lone shot she faced for a shutout in her collegiate debut
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Holy Family outshot UDC 45-2 and had triple the amount of draw controls, 18-6
 
How it Happened 
  • HFU scored its first of 10 first quarter goals just 28 seconds in, before tallying five in both the second and third
