11 members of the HFU soccer program – six women and five men – have been named to the Academic All-District® Soccer Teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The Academic All-District® Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom
In order to be named to selected, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, a starter or an important reserve player with significant athletic accomplishments, and own a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
Jacqueline Ziegler (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) is a repeat honoree,
a year after becoming the first student-athlete in HFU women's soccer history voted CSC Academic All-America®.
She is joined on this year's All-District® Team by teammates
Gianna Penecale (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland),
Carly Nothnagel (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East),
Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton),
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and
Ava Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East).
Those recognized from men's soccer include
Dakota Taylor (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood),
Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington),
Joseph Amabile (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South),
Kevin Duffy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) and
Luke Shank (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West).
