CALDWELL, N.J. – The Holy Family University Women's Soccer Team scored twice in the opening 9:04 en route to a 2-1 win at Caldwell on Saturday.
It took the Tigers just 3:58 to get on the scoreboard as
Gianna Georgette (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara Area) dispossessed a defender outside of the box, dribbled in and slotted into the left corner for her first goal of the season.
Kayla Dunn (Mount Ephraim, N.J./Camden Catholic (Shippensburg)) then found
Kenna Rozanski (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) at the box just over five minutes later, and her chipped shot fell in over the keeper.
Dunn is now tied for the team lead with two assists, while Rozanski is tied for second with two scores.
Holy Family registered 11 of the next 14 attempts as it looked to add on to its advantage, but it was the Cougars who halved the deficit with 12:25 remaining.
Caldwell pushed for an equalizer with two shots 28 seconds apart in the 85th minute, but
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made her fourth and final save with 5:05 to go to secure the victory.
The senior now ranks fourth in program history with 257 career saves, as well as eighth with 19 wins.
