GAME 1 BOX SCORE
GAME 2 BOX SCORE

Bronxville, N.Y. - Freshman Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) won her tenth game of the season after pitching a complete game shutout in game one as the Holy Family University softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Monday afternoon at Clippers Softball Field.

Holy Family is now 25-13 overall and 16-8 in CACC action after the split.  The Tigers currently sit in fifth place in the CACC standings with one more conference doubleheader to play.  Concordia is now 6-19 overall and 5-15 in conference action.

Game 1: Holy Family 5, Concordia 0

In the opener Walters shutdown the Concordia offense as she retired the first ten batters before junior Alexandra Mandarano broke up the no-hitter with a bunt single in the fourth inning.  Walters scattered two hits in seven scoreless innings to record her team-leading tenth victory of the season.  She also struck out five hitters.

Offensively, Holy Family drove in all five of its runs in the seventh inning via the home run.  Freshman Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) connected on her third home run of the season with a solo shot down the left field line to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Following Scotto's one-out homer, the next three batters reached base setting the stage for senior Erin Corrado (Fair Hill, Md./St. Mark's (Del.)).  With the bases loaded, Corrado highlighted the inning with her team-leading seventh home run of the season to clear the bases.  Corrado's third grand slam of the season gave the Tigers a 5-0 lead.

Corrado currently ranks third in the CACC with seven home runs adding to her career total of 14, which is fourth most all-time.  Corrado went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a run scored.

Game 2: Concordia 2, Holy Family 0

A two-run single in the third inning by sophomore Victoria Vickerman was all the scoring game two saw and was enough for the Clippers as they held on for the 2-0 victory.

With two outs and a pair of runners in scoring position, Vickerman singled through the left side of the infield to drive in sophomores Brittany Lampert and Caitlyn Callas for the games only runs.

In the pitching circle Callas limited the Tigers to two hits during the complete-game shutout out.  She struck out five batters, but also walked five.  Callas improved to 2-9 with the complete game victory.

Scotto and sophomore Alicia Alvarado (Palmdale, Calif./Paraclete) recorded the Tigers two hits in the game.

Freshman Amanda Paredes (Moorpark, Calif./Thousand Oaks) (6-3) received the loss as she allowed two runs off eight hits in six innings of work.  Paredes finished the game with three strikeouts.

Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 26 as the Tigers close out conference play with a doubleheader at Felician College.  Game one is slated for 12 p.m.
