BENSALEM, Pa. - The HFU Softball Team dropped game one of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament First Round Series to Wilmington, 2-6, on Saturday evening at Bensalem High School.
Trailing 0-2 entering the bottom of the fourth,
Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)) followed
Madison Grubb's (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) leadoff single with a home run to tie the score.
The Wildcats immediately countered with a leadoff homer in the fifth though, before adding to two more in the sixth.
The Tigers loaded the bases on three consecutive one-out singles by
Adrianna Lisotto (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North),
Olivia Croge (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and
Franceska Celebre (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) in the bottom-half, but WilmU was able to strand the tying run on base.
Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance, while Croge also reached twice.
