Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-11 setback to visiting Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Holy Family is now 2-5 overall and 2-2 in conference action. Philadelphia, winners of seven straight games, improves to 7-1 overall and remains undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 record.

Sophomore
Erin Harmer (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) led Holy Family with three goals on the afternoon as three others totaled multiple goals. Senior
Brigit LaRose (Lumberton, N.J./Holy Cross) finished with four points after scoring twice and assisting on two other scores, while junior
Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) and sophomore
Nicole Braungart (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace) each tallied a pair of goals.

Lancetta totaled a game-high five ground balls, while freshman
Karleigh Yori (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) picked up four ground balls. Junior
Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) led the defense with a career-high three caused turnovers. She also picked up two ground balls.

For Philadelphia, sophomore Liz Mower led the Rams with eight points after recording four goals and four assists. She also controlled six draws and picked up two ground balls. Junior Lauren Hartman finished with five points (4G/1A), while senior Libby Nichols scored four goals and controlled a game-high nine draws.

Holy Family led 2-1 after Harmer opened the game with a score in the first minute of action. Philadelphia tied the game, but the Tigers responded when Braungart found the back of the net with a score at the 20:45 mark.

From there, Philadelphia went on to tally four unanswered goals, including three straight by Hartman. After a score by sophomore Katelynn Parent, Hartman tallied three straight scores over a three-plus minute span to give the Rams a 5-2 advantage midway through the half.

Holy Family rallied and scored three of the next four goals of the game as LaRose capped the scoring at the 9:03 mark to make the score 6-5. However, the Rams closed out the first half with four straight scores to take a 10-5 lead at the half.

In the second half, Holy Family cut the lead to 11-8 after three straight scores. Harmer's third score of the game cut the Philadelphia lead to three with 23:25 left in the half. The Rams followed by scoring seven of the next eight goals to put the game out of reach. After back-to-back scores by junior Allison Brian to cap the scoring, the Rams increased their lead to 18-9 at the 6:05 mark.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made 13 saves in net for the Tigers after facing 44 shots by the Rams. Junior Kristen Moran made five saves for the Rams.

Holy Family is back in action on Monday, March 31 as the Tigers travel to face Wilmington University in a CACC contest. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
