Tigers Fall to Nationally Ranked LIU Post, 22-2

Aston, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to nationally ranked LIU Post by the score of 22-2 on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Neumann University. 
 
Holy Family is now 1-3 overall this season, while No. 1 LIU Post, improves to 6-0 with the victory.
 
LIU Post scored six unanswered goals after Holy Family tied the game at 1-1 at the 20:19 mark of the first half to propel the Pioneers to a 12 points halftime advantage. 
 
The Pioneers scored 14 goals in the half off 19 shots to take a 14-2 halftime advantage.  Senior Jackie Sileo totaled a game-high 13 points after scoring five goals and dishing out eight assists.  Fellow classmate Morgan Chiarenza finished with five points (3G/2A), while redshirt sophomore Alexis Newman and freshman Stefani Vagelatos totaled three points apiece (2G/1A).  Junior Kali Maxwell finished the game with a game-high nine draw controls a caused a pair of turnovers.
 
LIU Post went on to outscore the Tigers, 8-0, in the second half.
 
Junior Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace) and sophomore Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) each scored for the Tigers.  Junior Sarah Kelly (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.) led the team with three draw controls. On the defensive end, junior Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished with three groud balls and caused a turnover. 
 
Sophomore Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made eight saves in net for the Tigers, while senior Katie Hannan made five stops in net for the Pioneers.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, March 18 as the Tigers travel to face Wilmington University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
