Tigers Rally to Defeat Adelphi, 5-4

Kissimmee, Fla. - The Holy Family University softball team capped its annual Florida trip in grand fashion as the Tigers rallied to defeat Adelphi University, 5-4, in the team's final game at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee.
 
Holy Family finished its trip down south with a 3-7 mark, while Adelphi improves to 5-2 overall. 
 
Trailing 4-2 in the bottom-half of the seventh inning, the Tigers rallied for three runs to pull off the come-from-behind victory.  Senior Deanna Myers (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) jumped start the rally after reaching on an error.  Freshman Alexis Daubert (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) pinch ran for Myers and advance to second after a walk by sophomore Kristy Tomlinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter).
 
Junior AnnMarie Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) followed with a bunt single, which scored Daubert to make the score 4-3 with non one out.  Adelphi managed to record two straight outs, including a play at the plate as Tomlinson tried to score to tie the game. 
 
With runners on first and second with two outs, Holy Family took advantage of two Panther errors on the same play resulting in two runs, including the game-winner as both Dalton and senior Danielle McDevitt (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) scored to seal the victory.
 
Junior Victoria Reuscher (Cheltenham, Pa./Little Flower HS for Girls) (1-2) was the pitcher of record as she earned her first victory of the season after pitching 2.1 innings of relief.   Fellow classmate Rachael Alligood (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) started the game as she went 4.2 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out two. 
 
For Adelphi, junior Katie Andrews went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate to go along with two RBI.  Andrews drove in the game's first two runs with a two-run double in the first inning. 
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, March 12 as the Tigers host Bloomsburg University in a non-conference doubleheader in the team's home opener at Helen Randle Park in Newtown.  Game one is slated for 2:30 p.m.
