Shippensburg, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team scored six of the game's final seven goals to defeat Shippensburg University by the score of 14-10 in a non-conference contest Tuesday afternoon at the Robb Sports Complex.
Holy Family improves to 1-1 overall, while Shippensburg opens the season at 0-1.
Holy Family had three players record hat-tricks in the victory, including senior
Stephanie McNesby (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) who led the team with six draw controls to go along with her three goals. McNesby also led the team with two caused turnovers. Junior
Brigit LaRose (Lumberton, N.J./Holy Cross) also tallied three goals as well as sophomore
Brianna Lancetta (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace). Lancetta controlled four draws and caused one turnover.

Marissa Lawson (York, Pa./Central York) and sophomore
Sarah Kelly (Washington Twp., N.J./Washington Twp.) each tallied a pair of goals, while sophomore
Kimber Kisselback (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished with a team-high five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
For Shippensburg, senior Lindsey Kennedy led the team with four points after scoring a pair of goals and dishing out two assists. Kennedy also caused a game-high three turnovers. Junior Bennett Widlake scored a team-high three goals to go along with a team-high four ground balls.
Trailing 9-8 early the second half, Holy Family exploded for six straight goals to pull away from Shippensburg. Lawson began the rally with her second goal of the game to tie the game at 9-9 at the 15:12 mark.
Over the next 13-plus minutes, the Holy Family offense outscored Shippensburg 6-0 as the Tigers had five different players score goals. Freshman
Paige Settar (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) capped the rally with her first collegiate goal with 1:50 to play to give the Tigers a 14-9 lead.
Shippensburg would go on to score a goal in the final minute after going nearly 27 minutes without a score in the second half. The Raiders' prior goal came at the 27:24 mark to tie the game at 8-8 after Lancetta broke a 7-7 halftime tie to start the second half.
Freshman goalkeeper
Grace Deckert (Jarrettsville, Md./Fallston) made 11 saves after facing 24 shots for the Tigers to pick up her first career victory. Her counterpart, freshman Ally Frymoyer, made seven saves for the Raiders after facing 30 shots.
Holy Family is back in action on Thursday, March 7 as the Tigers host Queens College in a non-conference contest in the team's home opener. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
