LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Holy Family University baseball team began its final conference series with an 8-4 victory at Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.
Game two was postponed due to the weather.
Individual Highlights
- Alexander Ortiz (Hebron, Conn./Lyman Memorial) earned his second collegiate win with a quality start as he allowed just one hit over six innings
- Zach Lane (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle (McCook CC)) then came in for his first save at HFU, surrendering two hits over three scoreless frames
- Nick Lombardo (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin (Bucks County CC)) and Jalen David (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond) both went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI, with Lombardo scoring twice
- Luke Shahin (Ajax, Ontario/Archbishop Denis O'Connor(Augusta University)) had two hits, including a double, a run and an RBI
- Marc Garcia (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area Senior (Keystone College)) drove in two runs, while Andy Rivera (Silver Spring, Md./Woodrow Wilson (Montgomery College)) scored twice
How it Happened
- HFU had to erase a 0-4 deficit through two, beginning with Rivera manufacturing a run in the third on a leadoff walk, stolen base and back-to-back groundouts by Shahin and Garcia
- The Tigers then went ahead for good with a four-run fifth that featured singles from Lombardo, David and Garcia, as well as a Rivera bases loaded walk and Shahin sacrifice fly

The two teams meet for a 12 p.m. doubleheader tomorrow at FDR Park. Prior to the game there will be a ceremony for the HFU Baseball Class of 2025.
