Murphy Receives Two Postseason Honors

Already an All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) selection, HFU baseball's Casey Murphy (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion (Ursinus College)) has added two more postseason accolades to cap his stellar first season with the Tigers. 
 
The graduate transfer has been named to both the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Baseball Team and the Philadelphia Baseball Review All-Region Team
 
The Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team consists of 10 student-athletes and is selected by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Are, while the Philadelphia Baseball Review All-Region Team features players from over a dozen local college program and incorporates insights from local scouts, coaches, writers and other baseball officials. 
 
Murphy was the ace of the staff in the program's first season, ranking tied for second in Division II with six complete games.
 
He led both the CACC and the East Region with a 2.56 ERA, while ranking second in the league with a 4.69 strikeout-to-walk ratio, 1.10 WHIP and 2.08 walks allowed per nine innings. The Lower Merion, Pa. native was also sixth in the conference with 7.83 hits allowed per nine innings and 9.75 strikeouts per nine innings. 
 
Academically, Murphy recorded a 3.91 GPA in his first year at Holy Family as he works toward his Master of Business Administration.
