NEW CASTLE, Del. – The HFU University softball team battled at nationally-ranked Wilmington in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament, but the Tigers would fall to the No. 19 Wildcats 0-2 on Saturday. 
 
Individual Highlights

• Makenna Patterson (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) allowed just one earned run in a complete game effort in her final collegiate start
• Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) led the offense with a 2-for-3 performance

 
How it Happened

• An unearned run in the third proved to be the game-winner, despite HFU advancing two runners into scoring position in the fifth
• Hoban and Lindsey Gorka (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) both singled and after a sacrifice bunt by Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory), Wilmington would escape the jam
• The Wildcats then added unneeded insurance via a leadoff home run in the sixth
• Hoban singled to lead off the seventh, but the Tigers were unable to threaten any further
