PHILADELPHIA – Needing a win to qualify for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament,
Conor Seeley (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) scored from a
Ned Lewis (London, England/Hayesbrook) corner to equalize in the 52nd minute, but the HFU men's soccer team could not find a winner in a 1-1 draw at Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers outshot the Rams 14-5 for the match, with
Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) and
Sergio Revuelta (Valladolid, Spain/IES Alejandria) having respective attempts stopped in the 76th and 86th minutes down the stretch.
Holy Family had 10 of the 13 first half shots, including Revuelta and
Mohamed Bility (Lansdowne, Pa./Upper Darby) forcing saves 40 seconds apart in the 19th minute, but it was Jefferson breaking through from a free kick 4:29 ahead of the break.
There were only six second half attempts, the first of which saw
Deshawn Bernard (Portmore, Jamaica/Wolmer's Boys School) denied in the 54th.
Cheikh Diouf (Dakar, Senegal/MLK) made two stops on the afternoon, in the 26th and 60th minutes.
The goal was the first of the year, and the second of his career, for Seeley, while Lewis finishes the season second on the team with three assists.
