PHILADELPHIA –
Ricardo Paniccia Giraldez's (O Porriño, Spain/IES Pino Manso) brace, his first two goals as a Tiger, lifted the HFU Men's Soccer Team to a 2-1 triumph over Georgian Court in a battle of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) unbeatens on Tuesday night.
The senior defender opened the scoring just 1:20 in with a diving header at the near post from
Hugo Gutierrez's (Valladolid, Spain/Nuestra Señora del Lourdes) corner.
Lucca Saad (São Paulo, Brazil/The Phelps School) later found Paniccia with a pass into the right side of the box, and he fired across face into the left netting for the game-winner in the 67th minute.
Saad now leads Holy Family with three assists on the season, while
Jackson Kiss (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood), whose cross field pass found Saad, has two.
Gutierrez's assist was his first of the year.
It took just 15 seconds for Georgian Court to equalize as there were two goals in the opening 1:35.
The Tigers doubled up the Lions in attempts the rest of the half, including
Diego Palomera Herrera (Cantabria, Spain/Erie Prep) shooting on net twice, but the match remained tied at the break.
Both teams had two attempts in the first 16 minutes of the second, prior to Paniccia's game-winner.
Bruno Mestres (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Mackenzie Tambore) made two saves on either side of the half, the final coming in the 73rd minute.
