EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The HFU men's soccer team cut a 0-3 deficit to one with two goals in the final 9:16, but the Tigers ran out of time in a 2-3 loss at East Stroudsburg on Monday night.
Georgios Kazantzioglou (Athens, Greece/The Phelps School) sparked the comeback with a beautiful left-footed free kick from just outside the center of the box in the 81st minute, and it was his cross that led to an own goal with 2:01 on the clock.
Holy Family could not manage a shot down the stretch though.
It was the freshman's first collegiate point.
East Stroudsburg scored on the first attempt on target in both halves in the 22nd and 53rd minutes. The Warriors then made it 0-3 in the 72nd.
Joey Phillips (Levittown, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) made his season debut in net, making three saves.
