PHILADELPHIA –
Michael McGerry (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) received the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Cross Country Top XVII Award, as HFU competed at the league championship hosted at Belmont Plateau on Sunday.
It was the junior's second career CACC Top XVII Award, as he was also the men's track & field recipient in the spring.
Holy Family placed seventh in the team standings, totaling 174 points.
- Freshman Matthew Martino (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) led the Tigers in his CACC Championship debut, finishing 20th in the field of 63 after completing the 8K in 29:18.5
- Not far behind in 23rd was Thelonius Lucien (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Success Academy High School of the Liberal Arts), who posted a career-best finish at the championship after crossing in 29:40.9
- Letlotlo Mohubedu (Pretoria, South Africa/Northern Academy Secondary School (Essex CC)) (32:42.5), Andrae Johnson (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Oakcrest) (33:20.9) and Tyler Wesley (Winsdor, Conn./Bloomfield) (33:21.7) all notably made their CACC Championship debuts
