LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The HFU Men's Cross Country Team placed fourth out of eight teams at the season-opening GCU Pine Barrens Challenge held at Ocean County Park on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers notably defeated fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponents Chestnut Hill and Dominican.
- Emmanuel Power (Brooklyn, N.Y./La Salle Academy) (22.46.9), Andrae Johnson (Egg Harbor City, N.J./Oakcrest) (23:47.6) and Jermaine Fender (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) (23:09.2) crossed back-to-back-to-back in 23rd, 24th, and 25th place in the field of 62, with the latter two setting new collegiate PRs
- Freshman Benjamin Sun (New York City, N.Y./Northeast) (24:48.3) was the fourth Tiger to finish the 6K course, while Gavin Dwyer (Bensalem, Pa./Father Judge) (25:27.7) rounded out HFU's point total
- Senior Kimani Smith (Smithville, Jamaica/Edwin Allen) (26:16.4) notably made his collegiate cross country debut, while freshman Max Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) (27:58.5) made his collegiate debut
