WALTHAM, Mass. – The Holy Family University women's basketball team held No. 8/14 Bentley to just 25.9 percent shooting (15-of-58) in a 53-43 triumph at the nationally-ranked Falcons on Monday evening.
Individual Highlights
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) led all players with 15 points and a career-best 16 rebounds, the latter of which was seven more than any other player
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) contributed 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting, seven boards and a game-high four assists
- Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) grabbed seven rebounds too, a new season-best, while chipping in with nine points and matching Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) with a game-high two blocks
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) made it three Tigers in double-figures with 12 points, while adding three a season-best three steals
- Carly Bolivar (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka (Alliance)) set a new season-high in steals as well, leading all players with four

- In addition to holding Bentley to the second-lowest field goal percentage by an opponent this year, HFU forced 19 turnovers
- The Tigers outscored the Falcons 28-16 in the paint
How it Happened
First Quarter
- Hinkle totaled the first four points, and HFU was ahead until Bentley knotted it up for the first time at 8-8 with 4:04 on the clock
- The Falcons then took their first lead 29 seconds later to close out the first quarter scoring at 8-10
Second Quarter
- Bentley took a four-point advantage of its own with the first basket of the second, but Prevost tallied six of the first seven points of 11 unanswered
- Holy Family held the Falcons scoreless for 6:29 during the stretch, which ended when a Jenn Kokolus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) free throw put the Tigers on top 19-12 with 3:47 left in the half
- Bentley did score four in a row to cut the deficit to three, but HFU totaled the final five points as a Hinkle foul shot made it an eight-point cushion, 24-16, entering the locker room
Third Quarter
- Back-to-back buckets by Searfoss and Morrow pushed the lead to a game-high 12 less than two minutes into the third, but Bentley responded with back-to-back 3-pointers
- The Falcons could never make it a one-possession game though, as Kokolus responded to a 31-27 score-line with a layup to begin a 6-1 run to end the period
Fourth Quarter
- Bentley got as close as five twice in the fourth, at the respective 6:56 and 4:12 marks
- It was Morrow answering with a triple with 5:58 to play, before a Hinkle layup pushed the advantage back to seven, 44-37, with just 2:03 to go
- Holy Family would then close out the upset by making 9-of-10 free throws over the final 58 seconds
