PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– Sophomore
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) and senior
Georg Montag (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) were selected the Northeast Times Holy Family Athletes of the Year for the 2021-22 school year.
Kilkenney, a two-year starter for the women's soccer team, helped the Tigers to a 12-5-1 overall record and 9-2 record in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). She and the Tigers made a run all the way to the conference championships semifinal round. In defense, she helped the team notch eight shutouts on the season while also scoring three goals. Her efforts landed her multiple accolades including All-CACC First Team and spots on the all-east region teams for both United Soccer Coaches (USC) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
Montag, a four-year starter for the men's soccer team, helped his team to a 6-4-1 CACC record and a run to the conference championships semifinal round. He totaled three goals and four assists in the midfield while also helping the defense to four shutouts on the year. He ends his career as a Tiger with 14 goals and 10 assists.
Kilkenney and Montag, along with all other winners will be honored at the Northeast Times Annual Sports Banquet on May 12
th. The event begins at 6 pm.
