Tigers Slated Third in CACC Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Philadelphia, Pa. – Fresh off back-to-back Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semifinal appearances, the Holy Family University men's soccer team find themselves ranked third in the 2021 CACC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll announced by the conference on Monday. The Tigers, along with Georgian Court University, both received 98 points in the poll to finish tied for third. Holy Family though received one first-place vote.

Post University garnered the most points in the poll as well as the most first-place votes with five. The Eagles totaled 125 points to edge out Wilmington University for the top spot. The Wildcats received 121 points and four first-place votes.

With the Tigers and Lions tied for third, Goldey-Beacom College followed at fifth with 87 points, while Dominican College and Thomas Jefferson University tied for sixth with 82 points apiece. The Rams picked up the final first-place vote in the rankings. Nyack College finished with 66 points to round out the top-eight teams.

The rest of the poll includes, Caldwell University (51) in ninth place, followed by Bloomfield College (45) and Chestnut Hill College (45) tied for 10^th place. Felician University capped the poll in 12^th place with 24 points.

In a unique year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the traditional men's soccer season was pushed to the spring where the Tigers competed in an abbreviated season. The team finished 4-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play and advanced to the CACC semifinals for the second straight season.

Holy Family is set to open the 2021 season on Thursday, Sept. 2 with a non-conference match up at Shippensburg University.
