Philadelphia, Pa. - Holy Family University has named Jill Murray its new Head Softball Coach as announced by Director of Athletics, Tim Hamill on Tuesday afternoon.  Murray becomes the program's seventh head coach and comes to Holy Family after spending the past season at Camden County College.

"I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Jill Murray as our new softball coach," said Hamill.  "Jill brings a fresh new look to the program and with her experience as a Division II student-athlete I'm confident that she'll be able to build a successful program for years to come."

Murray spent the past season as an assistant coach at Camden County College where she primarily worked with the pitchers, catchers and infielders.  She also helped lead practice and developed practice plans.

Prior to that, Murray served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, West Chester University.  She helped lead practice drills and put to use practice plans that she created.  Murray also organized softball clinics for girls age 6-18.

A four-year member of the West Chester softball team, Murray was selected as National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete in 2014.  She is currently the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) record holder for career putouts and single season putouts.  Murray is also sixth in the NCAA Division II all-time list for career putouts.

Murray graduated from West Chester with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Professional Studies with minors in Nutrition and Health Science in 2014.
