Tigers and Clippers Finish in 0-0 Draw

BOX SCORE

Bronxville, N.Y. - After 110 minutes of action the Holy Family University men's soccer team finished its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest with Concordia College in a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

The double-overtime draw marks the second 0-0 tie in as many games for the Tigers as they are now 1-1-2 overall this season and 0-0-1 in conference play.  Holy Family drew a 0-0 tie at Dowling College earlier in the week.  Concordia is now 3-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in CACC action.

Junior goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) made six saves in net for the Tigers as he extended his shutout streak to 310:00 minutes to record his third straight shutout.  Ongaro faced 17 shots by Concordia in regulation as the Holy Family defense limited the Clippers to zero shot attempts in the two overtime periods.

Holy Family finished the game with eight shots, including three in the first overtime period.  The Tigers came inches from ending the game in the 98th minute.  Sophomore Justin Hiltwine (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) headed the ball off a corner kick attempt by junior Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic), however his header shot hit off the post.

Neither team was able to record a shot in the second overtime period.

Junior goalkeeper Ruel Gordon made four saves in net for the Clippers.

Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 16 as the Tigers travel to face Wilmington University in a CACC contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
