LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Jackson Kiss' (Warrington, Pa./Archbishop Wood) 73rd minute goal secured the HFU men's soccer team the No. 5 seed in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament, as the Tigers were victorious, 1-0, at Georgian Court on Thursday afternoon.

Holy Family will travel to No. 4 seed Jefferson for a quarterfinal matchup on Sunday at 12 p.m.

It was a Hugo Gutierrez (Valladolid, Spain/Nuestra Señora del Lourdes) cross that led to the goal, as his ball in from the outside the right potion of the box was flicked on by Dimitri Lekishvili (Aspindza, Georgia/192 Public School) for Kiss' diving header at the near post.

Gutierrez then had an opportunity to make it 2-0 saved two and a half minutes later, and HFU was not able to convert a penalty in the 79th, but it did not matter as Bruno Mestres (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Mackenzie Tambore) made the final of his three stops 5:16 ahead of the final whistle to secure his second shutout of the season.

Bogdan Stere (Bucharest, Romania/Lycée Français Anna de Noailles), Sean McKenna (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge), Ricardo Paniccia Giraldez (O Porriño, Spain/IES Pino Manso) and Jarrett Lalli (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) played defensively in the shutout, allowing the Tigers to outshoot GCU 12-8.

Kiss' goal was his fifth of the year, now second on Holy Family.

Gutierrez's assist was his sixth of the season, now tied for the league lead, while Lekishvili's was his third in the last five matches.
