GAME 1 BOX SCORE
GAME 2 BOX SCORE

Orangeburg, N.Y. - Redshirt senior Danielle McDevitt (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) tied the program's all-time hit mark as the Holy Family University softball team took two games from Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.  Holy Family won game one in five innings by the score of 10-0 and capped the afternoon with a 4-2 victory in game two.

Holy Family improves to 20-8 overall and 11-3 in CACC action, while Nyack is now 2-24 overall and 2-14 in conference play.  Holy Family has won five straight games and seven of its last eight games.  The Tigers are now currently in second place in the CACC; trailing Caldwell College (12-1) by two games in the loss column.

McDevitt finished the afternoon 3-for-7 at the plate and tied the program's all-time hits record of 205 set by former standout Melissa Zebley (2001-2004).

Game 1: Holy Family 10, Nyack 0 (5 Innings)

The Holy Family offense exploded for eight runs in the third inning to propel the Tigers to a double-digit victory.  The team had five players record run scoring hits in the inning as freshman Amanda Paredes (Moorpark, Calif./Thousand Oaks) highlighted the inning with a three-run home run to cap the scoring.

The three-run shot marked Paredes' second of the season as she finished the game 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI and two runs.

The eight run inning was plenty of run support for Paredes in the pitching circle as she earned her fifth victory of the season.  Paredes tossed the first three innings as she limited Nyack to two hits and struck out three batters.

Senior Victoria Reuscher (Cheltenham, Pa./Little Flower HS for Girls) closed out the final two innings to receive the save.  Reuscher struck out three batters, while allowing one hit and issuing one walk.

Holy Family tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth inning.  Senior Samantha Borrelli (West Berlin, N.J./Overbrook) hit a run scoring double in the fourth, while sophomore Alicia Alvarado (Palmdale, Calif./Paraclete) drove in freshman Brianna Scotto (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon)

Freshman Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) went 2-for-3 at the plate as well as senior AnnMarie Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area)

Game 2: Holy Family 4, Nyack 2

In game two, junior Elaina Vasquez gave Nyack a 2-0 lead right off the bat with a two-run home run in the first inning.  However, the Tigers rallied back with two runs in the third and another pair of runs in the fourth to pick up the 4-2 victory.

In the third inning, the Tigers loaded the bases after the first three batters reached base.  Nyack forced an out at the plate after Corrado reached on a fielder's choice.  Sophomore Kristine Casey (Newark, Del./Caravel) followed with a sacrifice fly to drive in McDevitt.  Walters followed with a run scoring single to tie the game at 2-2 before the Warriors retired the final batter of the inning to end the threat.

Holy Family added two more runs with one swing of the bat in the fourth inning.  With junior Kelsi Bunda (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) on third base after leading the inning off with a walk, Scotto came through with her second home run of the season to give the Tigers a 4-2 lead.

Walters (7-2) earned the victory for the Tigers after entering the game in the second inning in relief.  Walters went six innings and limited Nyack to only three hits in her appearance.  She also struck out five batters.

Holy Family is back in action on Sunday, April 13 as the Tigers host Chestnut Hill College in a CACC doubleheader.  Game one is slated for 12 p.m. at Helen Randle Park in Newtown.
