Orangeburg, N.Y. - Dominican College scored three second half goals to defeat the Holy Family University men's soccer team by the score of 3-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) quarterfinals on Monday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Holy Family, seeded seventh in this year's tournament, concludes its season at 6-11-1, while second-seeded Dominican improves to 11-6-2 overall. The Chargers will now advance to the CACC semifinals to face third-seeded Philadelphia University on Wednesday at Wilmington University.Â

The Tigers came away with the game's first goal when All-CACC selection senior
Ahmed Elgayar (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) connected on his fourth goal of the season. The score came off a free kick by sophomore
Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) who set up Elgayar with the scoring opportunity in the tenth minute.Â

Holy Family maintained the 1-0 advantage through the end of the first half and into halftime. It wasn't until the 69
th minute that Dominican finally broke through on the scoreboard. Junior Mark Grant tied the game at 1-1 with a shot from six yards out.

Grant would strike again ten minutes later with his second score of the game after receiving a pass from senior Sony Narro to give the Chargers their first lead of the game at 2-1.

Dominican tacked on an insurance goal in the 89
th minute with a goal by senior Jorge Zubillaga.

The Chargers outshot Holy Family by a 27-8 margin and held a slight edge in corner kicks, 6-3.Â

Sophomore goalkeeper
Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) made seven saves in net for the Tigers.
