Orangeburg, N.Y. - Dominican College scored three second half goals to defeat the Holy Family University men's soccer team by the score of 3-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) quarterfinals on Monday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.
 
Holy Family, seeded seventh in this year's tournament, concludes its season at 6-11-1, while second-seeded Dominican improves to 11-6-2 overall.  The Chargers will now advance to the CACC semifinals to face third-seeded Philadelphia University on Wednesday at Wilmington University. 
 
The Tigers came away with the game's first goal when All-CACC selection senior Ahmed Elgayar (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) connected on his fourth goal of the season.  The score came off a free kick by sophomore Tom Kostick (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) who set up Elgayar with the scoring opportunity in the tenth minute. 
 
Holy Family maintained the 1-0 advantage through the end of the first half and into halftime.  It wasn't until the 69^th minute that Dominican finally broke through on the scoreboard.  Junior Mark Grant tied the game at 1-1 with a shot from six yards out.
 
Grant would strike again ten minutes later with his second score of the game after receiving a pass from senior Sony Narro to give the Chargers their first lead of the game at 2-1.
 
Dominican tacked on an insurance goal in the 89^th minute with a goal by senior Jorge Zubillaga.
 
The Chargers outshot Holy Family by a 27-8 margin and held a slight edge in corner kicks, 6-3. 
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) made seven saves in net for the Tigers.
