Tigers Fall Short at Dominican, 1-0

Orangeburg, N.Y. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest by the score of 1-0 at Dominican College on Saturday afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.
 
Holy Family is now 5-10-1 overall and 5-6-0 in the CACC, while Dominican improves to 9-5-2 overall and 7-2-1 in conference action. 
 
Senior Jorge Zubillaga scored the game's lone goal in the 22nd minute after connecting on a shot from five-yards out.  Junior Christopher Walsh set up the score finding Zubillaga inside the box with a pass to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead and eventual victory.
 
Holy Family outshot Dominican in the first half by a slight margin of 9-8 and finished the game with 13 shots.  However, only four shots by the Tigers were on target as senior goalkeeper Andres Ruiz made four saves in net for the Chargers.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Richard Ongaro (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame/VCU) made four saves in net for the Tigers after facing 17 shots by Dominican.  Senior Ira Woodruff (Philadelphia, Pa./North Catholic) led the Tigers with two shots on goal, while junior Keith Crews (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and sophomore Aiah Mbriwa (Abington, Pa./Philmont Christian Academy) each tallied two shots each and one on target.
 
Holy Family currently sits eighth in the CACC standings and could earn a postseason spot with a win at Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in the team's final regular season contest.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
