Rutherford, N.J. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team won its second straight match by the score of 3-0 as the Tigers defeated Felician College on the road in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at Job Gym.
Holy Family improves to 5-13 overall and 3-4 in conference play, while Felician drops to 1-11 overall and 1-5 in the CACC.
Holy Family won a tight first set by the score of 26-24 and then went on to win set two by the score of 25-19 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Tigers then cruised to a 25-12 victory in set number three to clinch the match, 3-0.
Freshman
Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) led both teams with a match-high 11 kills to go along with six digs and two block assists. Senior
Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) and junior
Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) each tallied nine kills for the Tigers' attack.
Freshman
Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led the team with ten defensive digs, while junior
Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, Ohio/Colonel Crawford) finished with a match-best 35 set assists. Sophomore
Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) came away with seven kills and eight digs.
For Felician, Kayla Gallagher led the team with nine kills, while Olivia Emerson tallied six kills. Jenna Matesic finished with a match-best 12 digs.
Holy Family will look to stretch its winning streak to three matches when the Tigers travel to face Chestnut Hill College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 in a CACC contest. Match time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
