Tigers Drop Non-Conference Match to Kutztown, 3-0

Kutztown, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match at Kutztown University by the score of 3-0 on Tuesday night at Keystone Arena.
 
Holy Family is now 10-17 overall, while Kutztown improves to 12-15 overall.
 
Kutztown opened the match with a 25-20 victory in set one to take a 1-0 lead in the match.  The Golden Bears went on to take set two by the score of 25-22 and then clinched the match with a 28-26 victory in the third set.
 
Freshman Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the Tigers with a team-best nine kills to go along with two service aces and six digs.  Junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) tallied eight kills, while freshmen Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) added seven kills apiece.  Johnson also tallied eight digs.  Sophomore Devny Ingram led the team with 28 set assists, while freshman Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led with 16 defensive digs.
 
For Kutztown, Brittany Harman led the attack with a match-high ten kills to go along with 11 digs.  Chelsea Braga added eight kills and 13 digs, while Kim Gomber finished with 18 set assists.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Friday, Oct. 26 as the Tigers travel to face Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest.  Match time is slated for 6 p.m.
