Tigers Swept by Nyack, 3-0

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to visiting Nyack College by the score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center Gymnasium.
 
Holy Family is now 10-16 overall and 8-7 in conference play, while Nyack evens its record at 11-11 overall and improves to 8-7 in the CACC.
 
Nyack took the first set by the score of 26-24 and went on to take sets two and three by identical 25-20 scores to clinch the match victory. 
 
Freshman Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) finished with a match-best 12 kills to lead the Holy Family attack.  She also tallied four digs and one service ace.  Junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) contributed eight kills, while freshmen Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) each added seven kills.  Sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) tallied a match-high 38 set assists, while freshman Madi Mcshane (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) recorded a match-high 17 digs.
 
For Nyack, Debbie Schendel led the Warriors with 11 kills and 16 digs to record a double-double.  Moana Masaniai finished with six kills, while Christina Law led the team with 22 set assists.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 23 as the Tigers travel to face Kutztown University in a non-conference contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
