Tigers Win Third Straight With 3-1 Victory Over Concordia

Bronxville, N.Y. - The Holy Family University women's volleyball team won its third straight match with a 3-1 victory at Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest Saturday afternoon at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, N.Y.
 
Holy Family improves to 9-14 overall and 7-5 in conference play, while Concordia falls to 3-14 overall and 3-8 in CACC action.
 
Holy Family won the first two sets by the scores of 25-20 and 25-18 respectively to take a 2-0 lead in the match.  Concordia would go on to win set three to cut the Tigers' lead to 2-1 with a 25-17 victory.  However, the Tigers clinched the match with a 28-26 victory in set four to win the match, 3-1.
 
For the second straight night, freshman Charlotte Sabatano (Fredrick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) led the Holy Family attack with a match-high 14 kills as she recorded an attack percentage of .312.  Sabatano also recorded seven defensive digs.  Fellow classmate Emma Herring (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) tallied nine kills after recording an impressive attack percentage of .643.  Herring also tallied four total blocks and one service ace.
 
Sophomore Devyn Ingram (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) recorded her second straight 40 set assist night to go along with eight digs and five block assists.  Junior Sarah Ambach (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) finished with seven kills and five block assists, while senior Cara Przybylowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) tallied seven kills and five digs.  Freshman Rachel Johnson (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) also tallied seven kills for the Tigers.
 
For Concordia, Chelsea Zurcher led the Clippers with a team-best nine kills to go along with four total blocks.  Samantha Kurtzke and Irina Impellittiere each tallied six kills, while Alicia Vogel finished with 30 set assists.
 
Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 as the Tigers travel to face Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest.  Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
