Caldwell, N.J. - The Holy Family University softball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader to Caldwell College, 8-0 and 11-0, at Caldwell Field Thursday afternoon.
Holy Family is now 7-24 overall and 4-11 in the CACC, while Caldwell improves to 22-16 overall and 12-6 in conference play.
In game one, Caldwell scored three runs in the first and five runs in the third inning to secure an 8-0 five-inning victory over Holy Family. Junior Kelly Ryan and senior Patti Garofolo each finished 3-for-3 at the plate to go along with two RBIs apiece. Senior Brittany Pulido recorded the shutout victory for her 13th victory of the season (13-4).

Bianca Robinson (Erial, N.J./Timber Creek) finished game one 2-for-2, while sophomore
Danielle McDevitt (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) was 1-for-3 for Holy Family.
In game two, sophomore Kourtney Wilson and junior Juliette Wilson combined for a one-hit shutout as Caldwell took the nightcap by the score of 11-0. Kourtney pitched four perfect innings to pick up her eighth victory of the season, while Juliette pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
The Cougars led the game off with six runs in the first inning to take control of the game early on. Sophomore Kelly Schymanski highlighted the inning with a two-run home run.
Holy Family is back in action on Saturday, April 23 as the Tigers travel to the University of the Sciences for a CACC doubleheader. Game one is slated for 11 a.m.
