Millersville, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Millersville University, 61-51, at the Pucillo Gymnasium Tuesday evening.
Holy Family, ranked fourth in the most recent USA Today/ESPN Division II National Top-25 Poll, is now 3-1 overall after its first loss of the season, while Millersville improves to 3-0 overall.

Samantha Thompson (Southampton, Pa./St. Basils) (Southampton, Pa./St. Basil's) led the way for Holy Family with a team-high 12 points. Thompson also grabbed five boards and recorded three steals. Senior Lindsey Tennett (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) finished just shy of a double-double as she tallied nine points and a team-high 15 rebounds. Junior Lauren Peters (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) also contributed nine points and had six rebounds and two assists.
For Millersville, sophomore Aurielle Mosley scored a game-high 16 points after shooting 7-of-10 from the field. She also grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds to record the double-double. Senior Domonique Stroman also finished in double figures for the Marauders as she tallied 10 points and seven rebounds.
Despite shooting 21-percent from the field in the first half, Holy Family managed to keep pace with Millersville only trailing as much as four points. The Tigers grabbed their biggest lead of the game late in the first half when freshman Katie Duma (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) (Poestenkill, N.Y./Averill Park) drained a three-pointer at the 2:45 mark to give Holy Family a 23-19 advantage.
In the second half, cold shooting doomed Holy Family as Millersville outscored the Tigers 27-13 the first 15 minutes of the second half on its way to the 61-51 victory. Holy Family shot 20-percent from the field in the half compared to Millersville's 50-percent shooting.
Holy Family is back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 1 with a home contest against Wilmington University as the Tigers open conference play. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
