Men’s Lacrosse Opens Season with 13-7 Win at Point Park

PITTSBURGH – The Holy Family University Men's Lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign with a 13-7 win at Point Park on Saturday evening. 
 
Individual Highlights
  • Noah Simpson (Oshawa, Ontario/Henry Street) led all players with five goals, two assists and 11 ground balls, the latter of which was a career-best
  • Jackson Brown (Cape May, N.J./Lower Cape May) tied a match-high with four caused turnovers, a new career-best, while finishing second on the Tigers – along with Logan O'Keefe (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) and James Bienia (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) – with six ground balls
  • Jake Feeney (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) recorded a hat trick with two assists too, while joining O'Keefe and Owen Silvey (Deptford, N.J./Paul VI) in causing multiple turnovers
  • Adam Wickel (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) saved 17 of the 24 shots he faced to earn the win in his collegiate debut
  • Also impressing in their collegiate debuts were Frank Britsch (Feasterville, Pa./Holy Ghost Preparatory School (Moravian)), who led all players with 10 faceoff wins, and Parker Smith (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney), who had a goal and assist
  • Maxx Covely (Somerdale, N.J./Highland) matched Simpson and Feeney with two assists, while Xander Kelley scored twice

  • Holy Family set a new program record with 72 ground balls
How it Happened
  • Simpson netted HFU's first goal of the season just 46 seconds in and after Feeney made it 2-0, Andrew Kayes (Margate City, N.J./Holy Spirit) closed out the first quarter scoring for a 3-1 lead
  • The Tigers then tallied the first four scores of the second, over just 2:18, beginning and ending with Simpson finding the net to complete his hat trick for a 7-1 edge with 7:24 left in the half
  • Point Park got back into it with the final three goals of the second, cutting the deficit to three at the break, but Simpson again started and ended a run - of three straight this one three straight - for a 10-4 advantage with 2:14 to go in the third
