BUFFALO – The HFU Lacrosse Team fell behind 3-8 in the first quarter and could never recover in an eventual 14-20 loss at D'Youville on Wednesday evening.
Xander Kelly (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) opened the scoring just 1:26 in, but the Saints would answer with the next six goals to go up by five with 2:36 left in the opening period.
James Bienia (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) countered with back-to-back goals just 25 seconds apart, but Holy Family could never get closer than three.
Individual Highlights
- Bienia was one of two Tigers, along with Jake Feeney (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern), to net a hat trick, with both also registering an assist
- Frank Britsch (Feasterville, Pa./Holy Ghost Preparatory School (Moravian)) led all players with 13 faceoff wins and nine ground balls
- Logan O'Keefe (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) tied a match-high with three caused turnovers
- Noah Simpson (Oshawa, Ontario/Henry Street) paced HFU with five points on three assists and two goals
- Kelly and Parker Smith (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) also scored twice
- Adam Wickel (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) made 19 saves
