PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University women's basketball team defeated Wilmington 65-40 in its home finale on Wednesday evening at the Campus Center.
Prior to tip, the Tigers honored
Anjelai Hayes (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) and
Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) as part of Senior Day.
With the win, HFU clinched the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division two seed and will host Felician on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a CACC Tournament Quarterfinal matchup as a result.
The victory was also the Tigers' 19th of the season, their most in a campaign since 2015-16.
Individual Highlights
- Hayes led all players with a career-high six assists, while her season-best seven rebounds were second most for Holy Family
- Moore tied for a team-high with two steals, while finishing second on HFU with nine points
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) also had nine points and two steals
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) led all players with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting and two blocks
- Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) was the only other Tiger in double-figures with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 3-of-5 3-pointers
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) tied a game-high with a season-best eight boards, while Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was second on the Tigers with five assists

- Holy Family limited its fourth opponent to 40 points or less, and its fifth to 30.0 percent shooting or less as the Wildcats did not make a 3-pointer
- The Tigers bench outscored WilmU's 30-6, and HFU held major edges in points in the paint (34-16) and fastbreak points (27-4)
How it Happened
First Quarter
- Holy Family never trailed as the game was tied for just 1:35
- Two Searfoss free throws to make the score 4-2 two minutes in gave the Tigers the lead for good
- Holy Family had three eight-point advantages in the first, the final of which came when Prevost closed the period with a layup for an 18-10 score-line
Second Quarter
- That began a run of a run of 13 unanswered, as a Riepe jumper 22 seconds into the second gave HFU a double-digit lead for good
- Hinkle then followed a Riepe 3-pointer with a jumper for a 29-10 cushion with 6:36 left in the half
- The Wildcats got as close as 14 with the next five points, but the Tigers closed the quarter with the final seven as Riepe beat the buzzer with yet another triple for a 36-15 advantage
Second Half
- Wilmington opened the third with a foul shot but could never get closer than 20 after HFU scored the next eight, four of which were by Searfoss
