Individual Highlights
- Tazir Cantey (Lindenwold, N.J./Eastern Regional) was the lone Tiger in double-figures with 14 points, to go along with a team-high three assists
- David Robinson Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) led HFU with eight rebounds, while adding seven points
- Aamir Hurst (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann Goretti) contributed nine points and a team-high two steals, while Tairi Ketner (Philadelphia, Pa./Woodstock Academy (University at Albany)) chipped in with eight points
How it Happened
First Half
- Holy Family held Goldey-Beacom without a point for the first three minutes as it was ahead early after opening the scoring 30 seconds in
- The Lightning tallied seven of the next nine, but the Tigers tied the score at both 7-7 on a Jason Shields (Scranton, Pa./Scranton (Jefferson University)) 3-pointer and 9-9 on a Robinson Jr. tip-in
- Seven straight points gave GBC the lead for good though, despite HFU cutting the deficit to three twice, including at 15-18 an Izaiah Credle (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna (Chesapeake College)) 3-pointer at the 10:31 mark and then at 17-20 on two Cantey free throws 40 seconds later
- It was still a two-possession score-line, 20-25, on a Ketner layup with 7:19 left in the first, but the Lightning began to pull away with five unanswered
- Robinson Jr. got some momentum back with a dunk, but this time it was GBC totaling 11 in a row to complete a half-ending 3-16 run over the final 6:09 for a 23-41 advantage
Second Half
- Hurst scored the final five points of a half-opening 7-2 to flurry to pull within 13 less than two minutes in, only to have GBC respond with back-to-back baskets
- HFU got as close as 11 four times, first after back-to-back layups by Ketner and then when a Hurst jumper made the score 47-58 with 11:32 left, but the Tigers could never make it a single-digit deficit
