New Haven, Conn. – Holy Family University freshman Manny Toha (Newark, N.J./Marist) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 14 as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Holy Family opened the 2021-22 season this past weekend at the East Region Challenge hosted by Thomas Jefferson University marking the Tigers first competition in over 600 days.  The Tigers opened the weekend challenge with a 91-84 victory against Franklin Pierce University and nearly came away with a win against American International College, but the Yellow Jackets held off the Tigers for a 66-64 win.

In his first collegiate game, Toha scored a team-high 30 points against the Ravens as he shot 12-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-9 from deep range.  He also grabbed three boards and dished out five assists.  He followed that up with 19 against the Yellow Jackets to go along with five rebounds.

For the week, Toha averaged 24.5 points per game while shooting 51.5-percent from the field.  He was also 7-of-15 from three and converted 8-of-11 from the free throw line.

Holy Family (1-1, 0-0 CACC) returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 17 as the Tigers travel to face Lincoln University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 8 p.m.
