Game 1: Pace 11, Holy Family 3 (5)
Game 2: Pace 10, Holy Family 2 (5)
Records: Holy Family (3-35) | Pace (13-18)
Location: Pleasantville, N.Y. (Pace Softball Field)

How It Happened (Game 1)

* The Setters struck first in the opener as the home team plated three runs in the first inning taking advantage of a pair of Holy Family errors.  Annie Carberry drove in a pair of runs in the inning.

* Pace broke the game open in the bottom of the third with a six-run inning.  Emma Schafer highlighted the inning with a grand slam.

* Pace led 9-0 before the Tigers got on the board in the fourth inning.  Holy Family scored a run on a wild pitch and off a single by freshman Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) that made the score 9-2.

* The Setters added another pair of runs in the fourth to make the score 11-2.  Holy Family tacked on another run in the fifth off the bat of sophomore Taylor Nichols (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) who connected on her sixth home run of the season.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* In the nightcap, the Tigers jump out front after Smith drove in senior Sam Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) with an infield hit in the second inning.  The lead though would be short lived as the Setters responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

* Pace added another three runs in the bottom of the third when Alexandra Monteleone hit a three-run homer to make the score 7-1.  Another pair of runs in the fourth by the Setters extended their lead to 9-1.

* In the top half of the fifth, freshman Madelyn Yeager (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) produced a run scoring single to extend the game making the score a 9-2 margin.  However, in the bottom of the inning Pace got a RBI single by Emma Carruth to give the Setters an eight-run lead and walk-off victory due to the run-rule.

* Yeager and Smith each recorded a pair of hits in the game.  Yeager went 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Smith was 2-for-2 with a double, a run and one RBI.

Today marked the first doubleheader between Holy Family and Pace since the 2015 season.  The Tigers are now 1-3 versus the Setters in the all-time series.
