How It Happened (Game 1)

* Junior Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) gave Holy Family a 2-0 lead in the second inning after she connected on her eighth home run of the season.  Nolan's two-run shot scored sophomore Tyler Beccari (Havertown, Pa./Haverford (Temple)) who led the inning off with a single.

* Nolan notched her third RBI of the game in the top half of the third driving in senior Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) with a single up the middle.  The Tigers tacked on another run in the fourth inning when freshman Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) hit a solo home run for her second long ball of the season.

* Nyack got on the board with a solo run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Tigers countered with a run of their in to start the sixth.  Junior Sam Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) scored Bogardus with a single to center field to make the score 5-1.

* Holy Family sealed the deal in the top half of the seventh as the Tigers plated seven runs in the inning.  Beccari, Nolan and senior Jen Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) all had run scoring hits in the inning before Klem cleared the bases with a grand slam to cap the scoring.  It marked her third home run of the season and her second grand slam this year.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* Holy Family scored three first inning runs to jump out front of the Warriors in the nightcap.  Seniors Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) and Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) each had run scoring hits in the inning.

* The Tigers scored another run in the second inning and added two more in the third when Nolan recorded her second two-run homer on the day.  Her two-run shot marked her ninth home run of the season as the Tigers increased their lead to 6-1.

* Holy Family made it 7-1 when Bogardus drove in Nolan on an infield hit in the fifth inning before Nyack made things interesting with a four-run sixth inning.  Erin O'Brien highlighted the inning for the Warriors with a two-run double.

* The Warriors had the opportunity to tie the game or even win it in the bottom of the seventh.  After the first two hitters were retired by Orozco, the Warriors were able to record back-to-back singles.  With the potential winning run at the plate, Orozco forced a groundball for the final out.

Game Notes

* Nolan finished the doubleheader with three hits in each game as she went 6-for-7 at the plate with two home runs, four runs and six RBI.  She now has 14 career home runs and with the six-hit performance is now only 10 hits shy of 100 for her career.

* Beccari went 4-for-8 in the doubleheader while scoring four runs and driving in one.  Klem also had a big day with a 3-for-4 performance in game one, including a grand slam to finish the game with five RBI.

* Bogardus scored four times on the afternoon as she went 3-for-8 with a pair of RBI.

* Junior Hannah Miravich (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) (1-8) picked up her first win of the season after silencing the Nyack offense in game one.  Miravich scattered three hits over seven innings allowing just one unearned run in the complete game effort.  She also struck out two batters.

* Orozco (9-9) went 3-for-4 with a RBI in game two and also secured her ninth win of the season in the pitching circle.  She went 6.2 innings allowing one earned run in 6.2 innings of work while striking out two.

* Favinger went 2-for-5 in game one and with those two hits she now has 194 career hits.  She'll enter the postseason needing six more hits for 200 in her career.  Only two other players in program history have reached the 200-hit club (Danielle McDevitt (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) - 226 and Melissa Zebley - 205).

All-Time Series
Today marked the 33rd and 34th meeting between Holy Family and Nyack since the start of the 2002 season.  The Tigers are now 30-4 versus the Warriors in the all-time series winning the last 14 games.

Postseason Picture
It's official!  The Tigers clinched the seventh seed in next week's CACC Tournament.  Regardless of what Jefferson does in its final doubleheader of the season at Dominican College on Sunday, the Tigers own the tiebreak over the Rams due to their regular season win versus Caldwell University.  Jefferson though has secured a postseason berth as the eighth seed.

Next Up
Holy Family will face the second-seed to open the CACC Tournament on Thursday at Georgian Court University in Lakewood.  Game time is still to be determined.  The conference office will announce the official tournament pairings in the coming days.
