New Haven, Conn. - Junior
Shane King (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) has been selected to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track & Field Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week for his performance in the week ending April 19.
Holy Family competed at the annual CTC Outdoor Championship this past Friday and Saturday where King took home first place honors in the long jump event. King, who also won the long jump event at the CTC Indoor Championship, recorded a winning distance of 22' 1.50" (6.74m). He edged Rowan University's Dexter Anderson who recorded a distance of 21' 6.25" (6.56).
This outdoor season, King has previously finished second at the Philadelphia College Classic (22' 4.5") and at the TCNJ Tri Meet (21' 9.00").
In addition, King was also part of the 4x800-meter relay team that took fourth place in the event. King, along with freshmen
Taurai Augustin (Saint Lucia) and
Kev Orwig () and junior
Lou Simone (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) recorded a time of 8:44.30.
Holy Family is back in action later this week, as the Tigers will compete in the annual Penn Relays.
