Waltham, Mass. - The Holy Family University men's basketball team had four players score in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers dropped a non-conference road contest to Bentley University by the score of 82-75 on Sunday afternoon at the Dana Center.Â

Holy Family is now 3-2 overall this season, while Bentley remains undefeated on the young season improving to 4-0.

Senior
Ervin Ezell (Deptford, N.J./Deptford High) led the Tigers with 16 points to go along with five assists. Ezell finished with a season-high six steals on the defensive side of the ball. Sophomore
Turhan Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) scored a season-high 15 points as he was one point shy of tying his career-high.  Senior
Alberto Munoz (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) tallied 11 points and five rebounds, while sophomore
Isaiah Gans (Philadelphia, Pa./Redemption Christian Academy) chipped in ten points and ten rebounds to record his first double-double of the season. Gans also finished with two blocks and a pair of steals.

Khiry Hankins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day School) and junior
Xavier Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Saul) each added eight points a piece off the bench for the Tigers.Â

For Bentley, sophomore Tyler McFarland led all scorers with a game-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds. Junior Andrew Shaw added 15 points after knocking down 5-of-9 from three-point range. Senior Jasper Grassa contributed 16 points going 9-of-10 from the free throw line.Â

Bentley led the entire game as the Falcons shot 55.3-percent from the field, including an impressive 68.4 percent from the floor in the second half (13-19).Â

Bentley led by as many as 19 points late in the second half when sophomore Alex Furness drained a three-pointer to make the score 75-56 with five minutes to play in regulation.Â

Over the next 4:13 minutes of action Holy Family went on an offensive surge as the Tigers outscored the Falcons, 19-4, to come within four points of the lead. A three-pointer by Gans made the score 79-75 with :47 seconds left on the clock. Holy Family knocked down four three-pointers during its run from four different players.Â

Despite the late rally that would be as close as Holy Family would get as Bentley converted 3-of-4 from the free throw line in the final two possessions.

In the first half Bentley opened the game on an 11-2 run and went on to lead 34-25 lead at halftime.

Holy Family is back in action on Thursday, Nov. 21 as the Tigers return home to host Bowie State University in a non-conference contest. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. at the Campus Center Gymnasium.
