Softball Celebrates Senior Day with Sweep of Post

BENSALEM, Pa. - The Holy Family University Softball Team celebrated Senior Day by sweeping Post, 8-5 and 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bensalem High School.

Prior to first pitch, the Tigers honored the senior class of Paige Tidaback (Carteret, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas), Gina Olivieri (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Charter School) and Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway)

Game One
10 of the 13 runs were scored in the third inning, with each team plating five.

Holy Family erased a 1-5 deficit by sending 11 to the plate, as Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led off with a walk before putting a stamp on the inning with a bases loaded base on balls.

Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) followed the leadoff walk with a home run, while Olivia Croge (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and Olivieri also drove in a run.

The Tigers added insurance in the sixth but Molly Moore (Conshohocken, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) did not need it, as she threw 4.2 innings of scoreless relief in which she allowed just two hits, while striking out five against one base on balls.

Hobel reached base in all four of her plate appearances, walking thrice, while Grubb and Adrianna Lisotto (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) both finished 2-for-3 with two runs and a base on balls.

Game One
Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River) earned her second consecutive complete game win, limiting the Eagles to just three hits over five frames as she struck out four and walked one.

HFU batted around in a five-run frame yet again, this time in the second, highlighted by RBI singles from Rachel Allen (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy (Elizabethtown)) and Hoban. Croge led off with a walk, and Grubb and Lisotto both drove in runs with back-to-back sacrifice flies.

Hoban went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and a sacrifice, while Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) was 1-for-1 with two runs and a base on balls.

Hobel notably scored three times.
