NEW CASTLE, Del. - The HFU Softball Team used a four-run fifth to win game two, 5-2, at defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament champion Wilmington on Wednesday afternoon.
Trailing 1-2 entering the inning, a
Jaden Kelly (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) double was sandwiched by the first two outs, but
Lily Hoban (Millsboro, Del./Indian River) came through with a two-out single to even the score.
Then, following a
Madison Grubb (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway) walk and wild pitch, an
Adrianna Lisotto (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) two-RBI single put the Tigers ahead 4-2 before
Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)) capped the frame with an RBI double.
Kinsley Hall (Frankford, Del./Indian River) took over from there, limiting the Wildcats to just one hit over the final three innings to put a stamp on a complete game effort in which she allowed just one earned on three hits.
Kelly and Lisotto both tallied two base knocks, while Grubb reached base three times.
Holy Family took the lead in the first after singles by
Rylee Hobel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Lisotto, but Wilmington answered in the second before taking advantage of an error to go up 1-2 in the third.
This came after the Wildcats won the opener 0-8.
