The No. 19 HFU Women's Basketball Team has received the five seed in the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional, which will be hosted by Southern Connecticut State from March 13-16. 
 
As the five seed, the Tigers will take on fourth-seeded Assumption in the first round - for the second season in a row - this upcoming Friday at 7:30 p.m.
 
Holy Family defeated Assumption 67-53 in the first round last year, while the Greyhounds were victorious 54-58 in overtime earlier this season on Nov. 22. 
 
The winner of that game will take on the winner of the host, SCSU, and eighth-seeded Saint Michael's in the second round on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. 
 
On the other side of the bracket, two seed Bentley matches up with seven seed Mercy and three seed Daemen will take on six seed Felician. 
 
The East Region Final (Sweet 16) is set for Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing the Elite Eight hosted in Pittsburgh. 
 
Holy Family is making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, and the 14th in program history. 
 
Last year, the Tigers advanced to the East Region Final (Sweet 16) for the fourth time in program history and the first time since 2012.
