Felician’s Overtime Buzzer Beater Denies Women’s Basketball Second Straight CACC Title

CALDWELL, N.J. – The No. 19 HFU Women's Basketball Team's title defense came to an end on a Felician overtime buzzer beater in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Game, which gave the Golden Falcons a 63-65 victory over the Tigers at Caldwell University on Sunday afternoon.

Holy Family appeared to take control when Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) rebounded a free throw miss and converted a three-point play for a 60-56 lead with 1:16 left in regulation.

Felician would answer with baskets on either side of the Tigers missing two foul shots though, and neither team could convert a potential game-winner in the final seconds.

Amy Ngo's (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) foul shot 43 seconds in was the only point for the first 3:29 of the extra period, before the Golden Falcons made the first field goal with 1:31 showing.

After a Felician free throw with 15 seconds remaining, Kaelah Carter (Watervliet, N.Y./Shaker (The College of Saint Rose)) converted two foul shots to tie the score at 63 in the final seconds.

That set the stage for the Golden Falcons' buzzer beater.
